THE OBJECT

316L STAINLESS STEEL

• CHIAROSCURO is made from 316L stainless steel, selected for its purity and life long intended use.
• The substantial stainless-steel construction creates a light-protective environment for the capsules within.
• Each vessel weighs approximately 340 g, giving the object a distinct sense of permanence and presence.

MIRROR-POLISHED EXTERIOR

• The exterior is polished by hand to a highly reflective mirror finish.
• Its curved surface captures the changing light, colour and movement of the surrounding space.
• The appearance of CHIAROSCURO shifts naturally throughout the day as its environment changes.

SATIN-FINISHED INTERIOR

• The interior is a pharmaceutical grade satin stainless steel finish
• The softer finish creates a tactile contrast with the highly polished exterior.
• The interior is proportioned to hold 30 NOON ALL DAY capsules.

• CHIAROSCURO holds 30 NOON ALL DAY capsules, corresponding to approximately one month of daily use.
• Its proportions were developed around the simple daily action of opening the vessel, taking one capsule and closing it again.

THE CLOSING MECHANISM

• The lid uses a soft-close vacuum mechanism.
• As the lid is lowered, air is gently expelled, creating a controlled and distinctive closing action.
• Opening the vessel releases the seal with a soft exhale.
• The mechanism forms an integral part of the daily interaction with the object.

DESIGNED BY FEDERICO PERI

• CHIAROSCURO was created in collaboration with Milan-based designer Federico Peri.
• Peri approached the vessel as both a functional object and an object for the interior.
• Its shallow convex form, weight and reflective surface explore the relationship between material, light and touch.

MADE IN THE NETHERLANDS

• Each CHIAROSCURO is made to order in the Netherlands or ordered in minimums of 10 by retailers
• Specialist artisans machine, finish and polish each piece through multiple stages.
• Hand finishing gives every vessel subtle individual characteristics within the precision of its overall form.

CARE

• Clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth.
• Mild soap diluted in water can be used when required.
• Dry the surface immediately with a clean, soft cloth.
• Gentle polishing restores the clarity of the mirror finish and allows the stainless steel to develop naturally through use.
